Dear Sponsors, Donors, Supporters, Members, and Volunteers:

Thank you for all the support in the last two years at Dock Street Walking & Running. Dock Street Walking & Running was called into life because of my desire to make a difference for homeless through running and motivation. As Mahatma Ghandi says, “We must become the change we want to see.”

We have reached our second year milestone with 145 members and our incredible volunteer crew: Mary Larson, our yoga teacher; Peter Roderick, Christine Suter, Tine Wahl, Flemming Wahl, Max Welker, Bonnie Blair, Marcy Moran Crebs, Scott Crebs, Lola J. Waller, Sarahann Rickner and Robin Canell.

I’m happy to report that 12 members are employed, 9 are back in school, 10 live on their own, 16 re-established contact with their families, and 3 are part of a volunteer crew. We completed 22 races, including 2 marathon relays and 2 half marathons. We received 22 medals, 13 personal records and volunteered at 22 different races.

Dock Street Walking & Running will have one last race on June 8th, 2013: the Sound to Narrows 12k & 5K. Our running club is coming to an end and I’m very proud of what we started these past two years and what we achieved together. We created an amazing community of sponsors, donors, supporters, volunteers, runners and homeless. “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” -Mother Teresa.

JOIN US MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS FOR A RUN/WALK

Michael H. at Glass Museum
10:00 AM every Wednesday:
Dock St., under the 705 bridge/overpass.
Extra training sessions 8:30 AM every Monday:
Wright Park, outside the Greenhouse/arboretum.

2-4 mile walk/run. All levels welcome. Non-judgemental, friendly, non-competitive atmosphere where you can feel at ease. Training up for the local 5k walk/run. We provide water & snacks, and donated walking/running shoes if necessary.
