Ruston Way 5K

Posted: May 11, 2012 in Races & Events

Dock St. Family

Ruston Way 5k: The flattest, fastest, most scenic 5K in Tacoma. There were several known runners hoping to break an American record on this course, and it’s also the Grand Opening of Ruston Way. Motivation: “Nobody can go back and start a New Beginning, but anyone can start today and make a New Ending.” It only takes ONE PERSON to give and ANOTHER to receive; over and over again.

CONGRATULATIONS! VERY PROUD OF OUR DOCK ST. RUNNERS!

This morning we were part of an Interfaith Peace Walk for Martin Luther King Day. Two Buddhist Monks from Nipponzan Myohoji Bainbridge Island & Peter from Tacoma Catholic Worker Guadalupe House led us for a meaningful 3 mile Peace Walk at Dock St. We were all moved by the experience.

Todays Motivation: NEIL CULBERTSON – an amazing pastor & runner! Neil is living with brain cancer and donated a whole box of “The Great Northwest Runner’s TRAINING LOG” to Dock St. Family. He has developed this tool which is considered to be one of the best in the running community. Thank You So Much For You Kindness and Generosity! Neil has completed 8 marathons including many other races. He lived with his family in Guam for 27 years and worked as a pastor. Neil was awarded “The Ancient Order of the Chamorri” in Guam, the highest civilian honor.
